These three days will consist of four different production streams that everyone will have an opportunity to enjoy. This will include workshops in:

Creative Writing: Learning different creative writing skills such as poetry, slam poetry and script writing.

Film and Photography: Learn what it’s like to be behind the camera, capture and create stories.

Behind the Scenes: Learn skills to master the art behind the scenes like set-building and prop making.

Technology & The Arts: Create digital interactive experiences by experimenting with technologies and arts practices.

Suitable for ages 12-16, all levels of experience are welcome!

About your session leaders

Creative Writing with Adam Kammerling

Adam Kammerling is an award winning poet, interdisciplinary artist and educator. He is an associate artist at The Albany and the program lead of The Nest, an interdisciplinary creative education program delivered nationwide in partnership with the Fostering Network.

His most recent works include Seder, his debut poetry collection which was a finalist in the National Jewish Book Awards,  Shall We Take This Outside, a three-person spoken-word/dance theatre show that toured nationally, and Inside!, a piece of poetry/rave theatre commissioned by Centrepoint and the Saatchi Gallery. 

He has written poetry commissions for the BBC, The Orwell Prize and Nationwide, and theatre commissions for Upswing Circus, Raise Dark, and Slide Dance. 

A highly experienced educator, he has created poetry based theatre with emerging poets, musicians and circus practitioners at the Roundhouse, The Albany and Pentonville Prison.

Technology & The Arts with James Middleton

James is a movement-based specialist teaching freelance for over ten years in a variety of settings working with students from early years through to adults. He has taught, choreographed, and facilitated projects at various Performing Arts schools in and around Kent and runs successful local classes and youth dance companies. Organisations he has worked with included: Studio Wayne Mcgregor, Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, Protein Dance Company, Tim Casson, The Marlowe Theatre, The Gulbenkian Theatre, The Quarterhouse Creative Folkestone, Google, Canterbury Christ Church University, bOing Festival, WiseWords Festival.
