General David H. Petraeus, former Director of the CIA and Commander, US Forces – Afghanistan, was questioned about US politics and international affairs by William Shawcross, the writer and influential foreign affairs commentator.
Petraeus is one of the most prominent U.S. military figures of the post-9/11 era. He has been described as the “most accomplished general of his generation”, a leading warrior-intellectual, and “one of the great battle captains” in American military history. Following his military service, he served as Director of the CIA, and is now a partner with the global investment firm KKR and Chairman of the KKR Global Institute.
