In response to the events following the death of George Floyd, JW3 and JCORE will be hosting a virtual panel with April Baskin, David Lammy MP, Nadine Batchelor-Hunt, Sir Simon Woolley and Dr Edie Friedman.
How can we respond to repeated and relentless attacks on Black people by institutions which should be protecting us all? Not all of us can assemble, but we must react.
In response to headlines in the past week and the events in the United States following the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery, JW3 and JCORE (Jewish Council for Racial Equality) hosted a virtual panel exploring how the British Jewish community can combat racism and why this conversation is necessary in the UK.
The evening spotlighted the voices and experiences of Black people in the Jewish community, in the UK and the USA, and we were joined by April Baskin (Racial Justice Director, Jewish Social Justice Roundtable), David Lammy MP for Tottenham, Journalist Nadine Batchelor-Hunt, Sir Simon Woolley (Founder and Director of Operation Black Vote) and Dr Edie Friedman (Founder and Director of JCORE)
