Join JW3 for the annual Kristallnacht commemoration.
Hear from Holocaust Survivor Eve Kugler about her personal experience of Kristallnacht. Jon Silverman, former BBC Home Affairs Correspondent who won awards for his coverage of the UK’s war crimes inquiries will be in conversation with Julia Gross, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy, about Kristallnacht and Holocaust Education today in Germany. Music from Echéa String Quartet led by Eliza Millett will add poignancy to the evening.
Kristallnacht, also known as the Night of Broken Glass, occurred on 9 & 10 November 1938, when the Nazi Parties in Germany and Austria launched a wave of attacks on Jews and Jewish property, further escalating their policy of persecution. The name Kristallnacht refers to the litter of broken glass left in the streets after what amounted to pogroms. Synagogues, Jewish businesses and homes were destroyed.
This event is supported by Genesis Philanthropy Group.
