Jeremy Sassoon narrates and performs his history of Jewish songwriters from the piano online, supported by his trio.

Jeremy launched his show “Jeremy Sassoon's MOJO” at JW3 in September 2019 to a sell-out audience, charting the history of Jewish songwriters through the ages, with his inimitable style as an entertaining raconteur. He presents the show from the piano and uses his trio (bass and drums) to perform the compositions of the featured artists. The journey starts with George Gershwin and Irving Berlin and passes through Carole King, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Paul Simon, all the way up to Amy Winehouse..

The launch was received to great acclaim and a standing ovation and Jeremy's plan was to take it on tour in 2020, including a week at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August. With the pandemic putting paid to these plans, Jeremy has not only deferred Edinburgh until 2021 but has also written a whole new Jewish songwriters show in lockdown, called “Jeremy Sassoon's Alternative MOJO”, which he will launch next year here. In tonight's show, he will perform the original MOJO show, and offer a brief sneak preview of its forthcoming sequel.

Sassoon is a charming and witty front-man, one of his skills being that he can make the audience feel immediately at ease, and can almost relate to the crowd on a personal level
