Irène Duval has been a soloist with the Philharmonia, Dresdner Philharmonie, Sinfonia Varsovia, Kremerata Baltica, and COE and has performed chamber music with Steven Isserlis, Joshua Bell, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Gidon Kremer, Olli Mustonen, and Christian Tetzlaff.

Alasdair Beatson is the superb pianist of the Nash Ensemble, making a welcome return to JW3.

Asbjørn Nørgaard is one of the leading classical Danish musicians of his generation, and the outstanding violist of the world-class Danish String Quartet. Asbjørn also teaches viola and chamber music at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.

Mozart’s often played E minor masterpiece for piano and violin was profoundly affected by the recent death of his mother.  Fauré’s first piano quartet is full of youthful vitality and imagination and is one of his most immediately appealing works.  Brahms’s first piano quartet is composed of beautifully conceived melodies and its vigorous Finale in the Zingarese (Gypsy) style is thrilling -an exciting way to bring the series to an end.
