Focussing on the German/Austrian emigres of the 1930s including Freud and his family, stories also include the founding of Belsize Square Shul, a young refugee who became an award-winning author, the AJR, the Royal Family’s favourite sculptor, schlagsahne (whipped cream) at the Cosmo, and the Primrose Club for surviving children arriving post war.
