In 1927, Al Jolson revolutionised the movies by talking and singing. Silent films were dead and Hollywood now dramatically rose to the challenges of sound cinema. George looks at some extremely rare moments from the early talkies.

George McGhee has worked in the media for over 35 years, latterly at the BBC where he was responsible for all feature films and non-UK TV series.
