Synopsis
Penélope Cruz, Antonio Banderas, and Oscar Martínez star in a wickedly funny and biting satire of the film industry. Enigmatic auteur film director Lola Cuevas is hired by an octogenarian millionaire pharmaceutical tycoon (José Luis Gómez) to burnish his reputation with a producing credit on a great work of cinema. Purchasing the rights to a Nobel Prize-winning novel with his money Lola sets about casting two veteran thespians with dramatically opposing reputations. Iván Torres (Oscar Martínez) is a revered stage actor while Félix Rivero (Antonio Banderas) is a matinee idol known for brainless blockbusters.
