From the Bauhaus School in Weimar to Black Mountain College, Yale, and their beloved Mexico, Anni and Josef Albers produced pivotal artworks and influential theories that defined the history of the 20th century.
Their groundbreaking methods of teaching and making transcended architecture, craft, design, and the visual arts. Sharing the conviction that art should be at the very heart of human existence, their creative output and inspirational relationship mutually enriched and empowered one another. These two pioneers transformed the way we see colour, forms, materials, and the process of creation.
