Join Ana and Sefo at JW3 on the night before the 3 weeks, a period of mourning in the Jewish calendar, for this special concert of songs of loss and solace.
During lockdown, singer-songwriter Ana Silvera, together with Gambian kora master Sefo Kanutah, created Light, Console Me, a song cycle informed by mourning.
They drew inspiration from the traditional kaddish, and other artists’ responses: everything from the Hasidic Kaddish sung by a New York cantor, to Ravel, Barbara Streisand, Yemeni-Israeli diva Ofra Haza and of course, the wonderful Leonard Cohen in one of his final songs, You Want It Darker.
