One hundred and sixty years ago, the Alliance Israélite Universelle (AIU) brought about tremendous change in the Jewish world.
The AIU's network of 280 modern Jewish schools in the Balkans, the Middle East and North Africa, education for women, institutions for training teachers and community leaders, and the establishment of Mikve Israel agricultural college - created a new class of educated Jews.
How has the AIU's mission shifted over the years and what are the challenges that lie ahead?
Join us for this international ZOOM event assessing the AIU's legacy and featuring the prominent French historian Georges Bensoussan. We also invite ex-pupils to share their memories.
