World famous ceramicist and author of The Hare with Amber Eyes, talks 'on Homelessness' in this JW3/AH Speaker Series event
Edmund de Waal is an artist whose porcelain is exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. His bestselling memoir, The Hare with Amber Eyes, won the RSL Ondaatje prize and the Costa Biography Award and in 2015 he was awarded the Windham-Campbell prize for non-fiction by Yale University. His second book, The White Road, was published in September. He lives in London with his family.
Addressing a packed audience at a JW3/Alan Howard Foundation Speaker Series event, world famous ceramicist Edmund de Waal was visibly moved as he asked a packed audience, “What is it like not to have the things you love near you?”.
In his talk, ‘On Homelessness’, the artist explored his seven-year journey towards writing his bestselling family memoir ‘The Hare With Amber Eyes’, a book about ‘what home might mean.’
