We are thrilled to have Infinite Jest back with us again this Summer for two fun-packed weeks of IN REAL LIFE drama camps, run in accordance with government guidance.
Infinite Jest's brilliant team of creative learning specialists will be supervising games, challenges and activities that stretch the imagination, inspire creativity and boost confidence. Parents say: "I will definitely send my children to another Infinite Jest camp. It's been fantastic!"
Infinite Jest and JW3 are committed to providing a safe, happy, enthusiastic, and collaborative environment where your child's unique self and creativity can flourish, where they can make new friends, and learn and develop new skills.
The theme of the first week (August 17th -21st) is WACKY RACES and the second week (August 24th - 28th) is INFINITE OLYMPICS. After weeks of lockdown and missing school, this is the magic summer holiday boost your children need.
Infinite Jest's team of highly experienced creative learning specialists consist of actors, directors, writers, story tellers, theatre makers who are passionate about sharing their skills with, and being inspired, by young creatives. Our goal is to use the arts, in all its glory, to influence, support and encourage a young person's drive and access to learning. We are committed to nurturing a young person's creativity and allowing each child to shine.
The safety of the children and our staff is paramount and we will be adhering to all the relevant government guidelines. More info in the "Camp Safety" section below.
What's On■
INFINITE OLYMPICS
BREAKING NEWS...The 2020 Olympics have been cancelled!
Hang on a minute, NO THEY HAVEN'T. The Infinite Jest team have set themselves their greatest challenge. To organise the biggest and bestest Olympics ever. From opening ceremony to closing party we are going to put on the most spectacular sporting event ever staged.
The team are calling on all 5-7 and 8-11 year olds to help organise, advertise, spectate, fly flags, bear torches, commentate, news report, and of course PARTICIPATE.
No training required, just an Olympian imagination, a healthy dose of creativity and a ready, steady, GO attitude. We'll learn about the history of the Olympics, what it takes to be a great Olympian, create new sports and organise awe-inspiring glorious celebratory extravaganzas.
Here are some of the amazing things we’ll be doing together:
- Creating your Olympian and getting into training
- Organising the Opening Ceremony – a celebration of cultures
- Inventing new Olympic sports
- Commentating, news reporting and spectating
- The Closing Ceremony – a celebration of humanity
And here are some of the skills you’ll be learning from the experts:
- Acting; devising; drama game playing; creative challenges to solve
- Learning story telling skills – physical theatre, puppetry, improvisation
- Acting technique – breathing, voice, posture
- Drawing and crafting
….and so much more.
The closing ceremony will be at the end of the week for family and friends – either a filmed extract of what we have been getting up to during this dynamic and creative week or, if it’s safe for us to do so, a chance for a small socially-distanced audience to watch onsite.
Camp Safety
The safety of the children and our staff and volunteers is paramount and we will be adhering to all the relevant government guidelines:
- Safe drop-off and pick-ups
- Children will be in small bubbles supervised by the same leader for the whole week
- The activities will be conducted in a socially distanced manner, designed to minimise contact between children, and bubbles will be kept separate.
- Preference is given to weekly bookings to reduce mixing. If we have capacity then we will open to daily bookers, in line with policy at other summer camps
- Equipment shared spaces and the building will be cleaned throughout the day.
- Kids will be in large, well-ventilated spaces.
- Children will bring their own packed lunches (which must be kosher dairy, fish or vegetarian only - no meat) and there will be no sharing of food.
