Join us in the latest of our lineup of unique speakers, the Global Diaspora Series, for an exclusive evening with Sara Greenberg, who has spent her lifetime involved in global Jewish conversations.
Born in Philadelphia, Sara has lived, studied and worked in communities as diverse as New York, Hong Kong, Beijing and Jerusalem. After making a short documentary about her grandparents’ experience in the Holocaust, Sara began to work with various non-profit organisations including the Anti-Defamation League, the USC Shoah Foundation, and Taglit-Birthright Israel. In recent years she served in the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Office as Advisor for World Communities and as prime minister’s Advisor for Foreign Affairs, dealing in both roles with key issues facing Diaspora Jewish communities.
Sara will be in conversation with Lord Finkelstein OBE, the distinguished journalist and Associate Editor of The Times. His writing is mainly on political and social affairs, and he has been named political commentator of the year four times. During his career he has provided political advice to Prime Ministers John Major, David Cameron and Theresa May. He was awarded the OBE for services to the prime minister in 1997 and made a member of the House of Lords in 2013.
Sara will be sharing her experience of the key issues facing Jewish communities across the Diaspora and in Israel, and of how the Shoah impacts on younger generations and their relationship with Israel. As with all our Global Jewish Conversations, the audience will be invited to ask questions, participate and carry on the discussions – and in this online format we look forward to welcoming people from all over the world to spark a truly global conversation.
