In his own inimitable style, former Principal of The City Lit William Tyler provides a fascinating insight behind the history of the famed city.
Berlin has played a major role in modern European History. It was the heart of The Kaiser’s Germany, of Hitler’s 3rd Reich, and the Frontline during The Cold War. Berlin’s history, however, stretches back to The Middle Ages, beginning in 1237. The Hanseatic League, The 30 Years War, Frederick the Great, Napoleon all feature in its rich history.
William Tyler was the Principal of The City Lit, Britain’s largest college of adult education. He now has a freelance career which includes lecturing, public speaking, writing and consultancy with a main focus on History.
