Join us in partnership with EcoJudaism for a screening of the inspirational film Six Inches of Soil followed by a panel discussion.

The film tells the story of British farmers standing up against the industrial food system and transforming the way they produce food - to heal the soil, combat climate change, increase biodiversity, benefit our health, and provide for local communities.

Teshuvah (meaning 'return') is a core Jewish concept within EcoJudaism's work; the return to our true and best selves, the return of the natural world to how we received it from G-d. This film is about the return of soil depleted by decades of industrial farming to its former glory, teeming with bugs and life and the fertility needed to produce food for all.

We are very lucky to have an outstanding panel who bring a wealth of environmental and Jewish experience including:

  • Dr Lucy Michaels, a food systems expert who was a researcher and impact producer for the film
  • Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg, Senior Masorti Rabbi, and founder, Trustee and Advisory Board Member of EcoJudaism
  • Robin Clark, Senior Global Director, ESG & Sustainability for Just Eat
  • Jessica Robinson, Sadeh (a Kent based Jewish Farm) Trustee
