Following the many families who inhabit an oak tree as a home, living together as a society with their neighbours who are concerned with issues such as education, solidarity and survival.

Synopsis
Heart of Oak is a wordless documentary film that takes place at a 210 year-old and 17 metre (56 ft) high oak tree in Sologne. It follows the tree and its animal inhabitants during one calendar year. The animals include insects, birds, mice and a red squirrel.
