Join Zac Newman, Community Director of Hamakom, for the next in his guided Jewish meditation series.
Abraham and Moses both declare in the Torah: hineini, here I am. Isaac goes out into the field to meditate. Jacob wakes up from his dream and realises the sacredness of his here and now. Miriam sings. Hannah prays. Esther acts.
One way we can understand the Torah is as a collection of the different ways we can come into presence, into loving awareness. It offers us examples to live by, so that we too can wake up to what is meaningful and beautiful, inside and around.
In this session we will consider certain Jewish stories and practices which can support us to find steadiness and joy right here, in the middle of it all. We will explore experientially, through meditation and inquiry together. Everyone is welcome. No previous experience - of meditation or Judaism or anything else - is assumed or required. We’d love to welcome you.
This event will include:
- Guided meditations
- Concrete practices to take away with you
- Q&A
- Opportunity to talk with others
