Professor Shany is the former Dean of the Hebrew University Faculty of Law, former member and Chair of the United Nations Human Rights Committee. His field is human rights, and he remains a professor at the Hebrew University as well as a researcher at the Israel Democracy Institute. A great speaker, respected academic and researcher, he holds the Hersch Lauterpacht Chair in Public International Law.
