Interested in showing your work at JW3?
JW3’s Arts and Culture programme seeks to develop and showcase high-quality work that has vision, pushes boundaries, creates conversation and feeds the imagination. We are open to work on a wide range of subjects, and across multiple art forms, including comedy, theatre, music, dance, literature and spoken word and are particularly, but not exclusively, interested in work that offers a fresh and interesting approach to Jewish culture and resonates with the vision of JW3.
Our building offers a variety of spaces in which we can show work, including the Alan Howard Hall, a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose, flexible performance space which can seat up to 270 people; a 60-seat boutique cinema; dance, drama and art studios; learning spaces and a piazza. Zest, our in-house restaurant/café/bar, provides space for socialising and receptions around events.
You do not need to be Jewish to submit work; we are committed to equal opportunities and would like to hear from all sections of the community. Before you submit your work for review, we recommend you spend some time looking through our website to get a sense of what we do.
Submission guidelines
Submissions and project proposals are accepted and reviewed throughout the year and should be sent to Arts & Culture
Submissions should include:
• A brief introduction, outlining the discipline, company/artists involved, including any key talent and main themes.
• An artist statement and bio or CV, including your name and contact details.
• A brief statement explaining what stage of development your project is at, any partners or funding you already have in place or still require and why you think JW3 is the right place for your project.
• A sample of your work (script/video/audio etc.).
• Any supporting materials (websites, brochures, reviews etc.) relating to the proposed performance or artist.
Please note:
• Due to high volume, we are unable to return submissions so please do not post your precious or limited resources to us.
• We are very limited in terms of how much we can commission. We are able to put on scratch performances, rehearsed readings and work that is already developed.
• Due to the multi-purpose nature of our auditorium, we are rarely able to present long runs of any performance. We are most able to present performances without complex sets.
• We do not have a permanent dedicated gallery space to install exhibitions. We may be able incorporate visual art within our programme such as installations and interventions. We are open to ideas but please bear in mind the limitations of our space.
• When you submit your work you will receive an automated response but be assured that we will look at all submissions. The process of reviewing your work may take several months and we will contact you if we require more information or if your proposal was selected for further consideration. Please do not call or walk in to discuss your proposal. Thank you!
• Please do not resubmit the same idea. If you are unsuccessful on any occasion do not feel deterred; please submit all new ideas and any new proposals in exactly the same way.
