Dr Aviva Dautch is the Executive Director of Jewish Renaissance, the UK's Jewish arts magazine. She is a published poet, has a PhD in literature and lectures on modern Jewish literature weekly at JW3. She is a regular contributor to courses and programmes for the British Library, British Museum and BBC Radio 4 and LSJS.

Poet wins National Gallery Commission
An award-winning Jewish poet has won a prestigious commission from the National Gallery. Dr Aviva Dautch is one of 20 authors selected to pen a written response to a new National Gallery virtual exhibition on religion and art.
Called Fruits of the Spirit: Art From the Heart, it pairs nine iconic Christian pieces “in conversation” with a more contemporary artwork.
Dautch chose to match the theme of faith with Italian painter Orazio Gentileschi’s The Finding of Moses which dates from the early 1630s.
She said, “It was a challenge to consider the relationship between art and religion”. The exhibition runs until 30 April 2023.
