On a significant birthday, Sally gave herself a gift – she joined the Chevra Kadisha (Jewish Burial Society) in order to prepare bodies for a Jewish burial.
Join Sally as she recounts her experiences on the Chevra Kadisha in her recent publication Death Duties. She'll also explore the impact of the pandemic on mourning rites, preparing the digital foot-print we leave behind and how to have the difficult conversations about death and dying with our loved ones.
Sally is the daughter of Slovakian Holocaust survivors and grew up in Melbourne. After living in New York and Jerusalem, an epistolary romance brought her to London where she has been for nearly 30 years. Since 2009, she has been the CEO of the Rothschild Foundation Hanadiv Europe, a foundation that supports Jewish heritage and culture across Europe.
