We will also hear from South African director Jordy Sank and filmmaker Gabriela Blumberg, the producers of I Am Here, a life-affirming documentary about 98 year-old grandmother and Holocaust Survivor, Ella Blumenthal.

Jordy Sank
Jordy Sank is a South African director with a passion for emotive storytelling, with a strong vision of crafting content that evokes truth, and deep meaning. I Am Here is his feature documentary directorial debut. His short film, ‘The Locket’, was nominated for a South African Film and Television Award in 2017, and screened at various international festivals. Jordy has worked in South Africa’s advertising industry, being guided and mentored by commercials-directing giants. He has directed video content for many brands including KFC, Vodacom and Telkom. He grew up alongside Ella (focus of I Am Here) and listened to her heart-wrenching stories of perseverance, resilience and strength. This inspired him to embark on this passion project that has been a dream of his for over 15 years.
Gabriella Blumberg
Gabriella Blumberg is a South African born filmmaker and drama teacher. She completed her BA in Film and Television cum laude at the University of Witwatersrand Johannesburg whilst concurrently achieving distinction in both her ATCL and LTCL drama teaching qualifications from Trinity Guildhall College London. Gabriella attained an MA in Directing from the MET Film School London; where she thrived directing short films and creative content. The short “I, Coolie” (2018) directed by Gabriella won first place student film at the San Francisco Black Film Festival, was screened in Cincinnati and won judge’s choice at Best Global Shorts festival. Her short film “Inheritance” (2018) is currently available on the UK Jewish Film VOD platform. Gabriella is passionate about telling stories that have impact and cause. She works with non profit organisations in the Breast Health sector. She produced I Am Here - her debut feature documentary, an impactful humanitarian story.
