Yes, you heard right. Young JW3 and Willesden Jewish Cemetery will be hosting a virtual Death Cafe where we will come together to discuss all things death.
Swiss sociologist and anthropologist Vernard Crettaz organised the first café mortel (everything sounds better in French, doesn’t it?) in 2004 to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their lives. The past year has been really tough and our thoughts about mortality have increased and we think it’s vital to get together and talk about what we think about when we think about death.
This is a non-judgemental space led by a facilitator for adults who want to talk openly about death. We will be joined by Jewish Bereavement Counselling Service who will share a little about what they do at the end of the cafe. All welcome, booking essential.
