As the Jewish community prepared to celebrate Chanukah on Friday 16 December 2022, The King visited JW3 to see our work.
His Majesty heard from young people taking part in our programmes and our many volunteers who dedicate their time to delivering our activities in the JW3 Foodbank and beyond.
As part of his visit, The King also took part in our pre-Chanukah reception for Holocaust Survivors who regularly take part in social activities and events at JW3. Survivors were delighted when His Majesty joined them in a dance to the popular klezmer group, Shir.
JW3 Life President Dame Vivien Duffield presented the King with a beautiful Chanukiah to mark his visit and said:
“Today, twenty years exactly from my first aspiration, I’m proud to stand here and welcome your Majesty to a centre that is vibrant, exciting and a wonderful addition to the quality, the variety and the enhancement of Jewish life in London.
I’m proud of the way we have evolved to become a central point in the fight against hunger and poverty and how we attract all elements of our community. Thank you your Majesty for being here.”
