The JW3 Foodbank is the central food hub for the north of the Borough of Camden. Since the start of Covid, we have distributed over 500,000 meals to local beneficiaries in need.

Looking to volunteer and help tackle local food poverty? There are various ways for you to get involved:

Donate Food and other items: The more food we get, the more people we can help. The most useful foods are non-perishable items such as long-life milk, packets of rice, pasta, cereal, tins of vegetables, canned soup, etc. We are also always in need of plastic bags (shopping, not bin bags) for packing our weekly food parcels. You can bring items to JW3 (Finchley Road or Lymington Road entrances) between 9am-5.30pm.

Organise neighbourhood collections of food: Volunteer to be a collection point for their friends and neighbours. It’s a great way to galvanise your neighbourhood by messaging your networks and Whatsapp groups to drop off non-perishable food items (see above) for you to bring to JW3 once your car boot is full. Or maybe you can get a handful of people to club together to place a food delivery order from a supermarket, sending it directly to JW3.

Delivering food parcels: You will deliver groceries bags and cooked meals to those who need them in our catchment area in the borough of Camden. It’s a great way to see who we support and we really need support in this area.

Packing and/or delivering food parcels: On Wednesdays we pack and deliver food parcels in the local area. You can volunteer to pack, deliver, or both!

Cooking hot meals: Partnering with Feast!, JW3 volunteers come together three times a week to prepare and deliver hot and nutritious food to members of the local Camden community and people suffering from homelessness in the local area. Cooking takes place Tuesday evenings 5pm – 9pm, Wednesday mornings 9.30am - 1.30pm and Thursday mornings 9.30am - 1.30pm.
