We are thrilled to invite you to JW3’s Summer Drama Camp with the Infinite Jest Theatre Company.
Join us for two fun-packed weeks of IN REAL LIFE games, crafts and sports, with opportunities to make new friends and develop new skills, all run in accordance with government guidance and using the best COVID19 safety practices.
During the second half of August, our building in Finchley Road will be hosting Infinite Jest's brilliant team of creative learning specialists. They will be supervising games, challenges and activities that stretch the imagination, inspire creativity and boost children's confidence. It is more than ‘just’ childcare during the end of the summer for working parents – it’s the perfect Summer Day Camp for primary school aged kids, that makes parents say: "I will definitely send my children to another Infinite Jest camp. It's been fantastic!"
We are committed to providing a safe, happy, enthusiastic, and collaborative environment during our summer programmes for children. JW3’s Summer Drama Camp with Infinite Jest is where your child's unique self and creativity can flourish, while learning and developing new skills every day. In addition, at £179 per child per week (plus a 10% discount for siblings or for a second week), it’s an affordable Summer Camp right in the heart of Hampstead.
Infinite Jest's team of highly experienced creative learning specialists consist of actors, directors, writers, storytellers and theatre-makers, who are passionate about sharing their skills with, and being inspired by, young creatives. Our goal is to use the arts, in all its glory, to influence, support and encourage a young person's drive and access to learning. We are committed to nurturing kids' creativity and allowing each child to shine.
Although we are recognised as the leading Jewish Arts, Culture and Community Centre in London, JW3's Summer Camp more than welcomes children from all different religions, backgrounds, and ethnicities. Our Summer Drama Camp is the best place for your children to spend the end of August, as we host families from all around Hampstead and NW London – with different themes, games and activities every week.
What to expect from our Summer Drama Camp■
17-21 August 2020: Wacky Races Themed Camp
Have you got what it takes to become the World's Wackiest Racer? Join Infinite Jest for one of the silliest, craziest, funniest rides ever. Inspired by the original Wacky Races, we'll be creating kooky characters, screwball vehicles and zany stories, as you race around the world in a goofy contraption of your own design and making. What could possibly go wrong? There'll be pitfalls, obstacles, and challenges aplenty to creatively overcome, not to mention everyone's arch-enemy, Nick Nastily.
No special skills required for this amazing week other than an extraordinary imagination, unbounded creativity, a mammoth sense of humour, and a willingness to jump right in and have loads of fun. Here are some of the amazing things we’ll be doing together in our Wacky Races Camp:
- Creating your Wacky Racer and sidekick
- Invent, design and devise your Wacky Racing vehicle
- Plan your Wacky Race Route
- Villains and obstacles – the perils of the Wacky Racer
- The Wacky Race to discover the World's Wackiest Racer
There will also be a show at the end of the week for family and friends – either a filmed extract of what we have been getting up to during this dynamic and creative week or, if it’s safe for us to do so, a chance for a small socially-distanced audience to watch onsite.
24-28 August 2020: Infinite Olympics Themed Camp
The 2020 Olympics have been cancelled… Hang on a minute, NO THEY HAVEN'T!
This Summer Camp, the Infinite Jest team have set themselves their greatest challenge: to organise the best Olympics ever, right here in Hampstead. From the opening ceremony to a closing party, this August your kids are going to put on the most spectacular sporting event ever staged in a NW London. They will organise, advertise, fly flags, bear torches, commentate, record news report, and of course – participate in a Summer Olympic like no other.
No training required, just an Olympian imagination, a healthy dose of creativity and a ready, steady, GO attitude. Kids will create new sports, organise awe-inspiring glorious celebratory extravaganzas, compete in different games and win medals – while they learn about the history of the Olympics, and what it takes to be a great Olympian. Here are some of the amazing things we’ll be doing together in our Olympics Camp:
- Creating your Olympian and getting into training
- Organising the Opening Ceremony – a celebration of cultures, colours and sportsmanship
- Inventing and participating in new Olympic sports
- Experience Commentating, news reporting and cheering
- Organising the Closing party – a celebration of humanity
The closing ceremony will be at the end of the week for family and friends – either a filmed extract of what we have been getting up to during this dynamic and creative week or, if it’s safe for us to do so, a chance for a small socially-distanced audience to watch onsite.
